An established and highly regarded Sussex law firm is looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to join its growing residential property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright graduate, legal assistant, paralegal or junior conveyancing professional looking to build a long-term career within residential property. The firm is particularly interested in someone who is organised, personable and keen to learn, with the potential to develop their technical conveyancing knowledge through hands-on experience and close support from an experienced team.

The Role

As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will provide support across a range of residential property matters and play an important role in ensuring transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files
  • Supporting fee earners with sales, purchases and remortgages
  • Preparing and issuing legal correspondence and documentation
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties
  • Assisting with AML, ID and client onboarding requirements
  • Ordering and reviewing property searches
  • Assisting with Land Registry applications and SDLT documentation
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records
  • Monitoring key dates and assisting with the progression of transactions
  • Providing a high standard of client care throughout the conveyancing process

Conveyancing experience is desirable but not essential. The firm is open to candidates from a broader legal or professional services background who can demonstrate strong organisation, attention to detail, written communication and a genuine interest in developing within property law.

About You

The successful Conveyancing Assistant will ideally be:

  • A law graduate or have previous legal administration/conveyancing experience
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
