My client is a specialist underwriting agency that provides legal indemnity insurance to the property market across England and Wales. It's a niche product that often comes up during a property purchase, usually when there's a gap in title, a missing consent or a similar legal issue to cover. They're looking for Underwriters to join a supportive, fast-growing business.
You don't need underwriting experience. Experienced industry professionals will give you full training. You will need some base knowledge of property law or legal indemnity, which makes this ideal if you studied property law as part of your degree.
Not every law graduate wants to become a solicitor. If you enjoyed property law, like reading documents closely and want a career where your legal knowledge counts from day one, this could be the role for you.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing enquiries from solicitors and brokers, assessing the risk and preparing quotes
- Answering follow-up questions, mostly by email
- Issuing final policy documents
- Working in Microsoft Word and a bespoke IT system (training provided)
- Making sure work is compliant and that clients get excellent service
