The Opportunity

We are looking for a Graduate Data Scientist to join a growing team within an established organisation, helping to develop data-driven solutions that support business performance and decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their data science career to apply their analytical skills to real-world challenges, develop their technical expertise and learn from experienced professionals.

You will work with a variety of datasets, explore new ways of solving problems and contribute to the development of statistical models and analytical solutions. You'll also collaborate with colleagues across different teams, gaining exposure to a range of projects and seeing how data science can make a tangible difference to business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development, testing and maintenance of statistical models and predictive solutions.
  • Apply analytical and data science techniques to solve practical business problems.
  • Explore new and existing data sources to generate useful insights.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different teams to understand challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Use programming and statistical techniques, including machine learning, to investigate data and support decision-making.
  • Present findings and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist with implementing, monitoring and improving analytical solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, analytical techniques and industry developments.

Skills and Experience

  • A degree in a quantitative or analytical subject, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • An interest in data science, statistical modelling and using data to solve problems.
  • Some experience with programming languages or analytical tools, such as Python, SQL, SAS or PySpark, gained through university projects, placements, internships or employment.
  • An understanding of statistical concepts and an interest in predictive modelling or machine learning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly.
  • A willingness to learn new tools, techniques and technologies.

We welcome applications from recent graduates and candidates with limited commercial experience.

University projects, personal projects, placements and internships are all relevant.

What We're Looking For

  • A curious and logical thinker who enjoys investigating problems and finding solutions.
  • Someone who is motivated to learn, develop and build a career in data science.
  • A collaborative team player who is comfortable sharing ideas and learning from others.
  • An individual who takes a proactive approach to their work and looks for opportunities to improve processes.
  • Someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to take on new challenges and a good sense of humour.

The Opportunity to Develop

You'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, develop your technical capabilities and gain practical experience applying data science in a business environment. This role offers a strong foundation for someone looking to build a long-term career in data science and analytics.
