This is not a standard recruitment desk role. You’ll be embedded as a dedicated talent specialist inside a newly launching specialist commercial motor insurance business as it builds its UK operation.

Your role will be to help identify, engage and secure high-quality people across underwriting, distribution and technology, particularly those with experience in commercial fleet, haulage, last-mile, courier or specialist motor insurance.

You’ll be employed by Vermelo RPO and deployed directly into the client, working closely with the founding team day to day, with access to our sourcing tools, insurance-sector networks and delivery support.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the founding-hire recruitment plan across role scoping, market mapping, sourcing, candidate engagement and process management
  • Direct-source passive candidates across commercial motor, fleet, MGA and specialist insurance markets
  • Build talent maps and approach candidates who may not be actively looking
  • Represent the opportunity professionally in the market, explaining the start-up journey and long-term growth plans
  • Support offer management, candidate communication and process coordination
  • Work at pace to help ensure key hires are in place ahead of launch

What we’re looking for:

  • Recruitment experience within UK insurance, financial services or a related specialist market
  • Some exposure to commercial motor, fleet, MGA, underwriting, distribution or technology hiring would be useful
  • Confident sourcing and approaching passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter and wider channels
  • Comfortable speaking with senior candidates and building credibility quickly
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple searches at pace
  • Comfortable working in an embedded environment, close to the client and founding team
  • Available to start during week commencing 20th July 2026

What’s on offer:

  • £45,000–£60,000 per annum, pro rata
  • Initial 3-month fixed term contract, with the potential to extend
  • Full tooling provided, including LinkedIn Recruiter
  • Hybrid working, with time alongside the founding team
  • A rare opportunity to support the build-out of a funded insurance start-up at a key stage of its journey
