Company Description: The DSL is part of a long-standing tradition of excellence in the world-wide networks of more than 130 schools abroad. All are independent schools accredited and supported by the Federal Republic of Germany. DSL offers an appealing and challenging educational programme from Kindergarten to Abitur with a specific emphasis on German language and culture.
Position: This is a unique opportunity to become part of the 'Ganztag-Team'. Set in extensive, rural grounds, next to the River Thames, the "Erzieher im Ganztag" supervises children from the age of 6 - 12 years old. We are looking for enthusiastic applicants, who can commit to working full time and is planning on a long term career move with the School. Ideally you are an Erzieher / Educator / Social Worker or have worked in a related pedagogical role, experienced with children of Primary School age.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising children outdoors and indoors in the "Ganztag"/ afternoon care
- Planning and implementation of educational programmes in the afternoon
- Leading afternoon clubs or planning own afternoon club as required
- Registration and de-registration of pupils in the all-day programme
- Participation in team meetings and general conferences
Requirements: We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, German-speaking team-player, who has a proven track record in working with children between the age of 6 and 12 years. You must be able to work flexibly in the afternoons and enjoy the challenges of working with children in a bi-lingual setting, who have a variety of afternoon club options as well as free-play outdoors.
