About The Role
As a Functional Assessor, you\’ll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people\’s daily lives and ability to work. It\’s a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection – giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.
Responsibilities
- Carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
- Work independently, while also being part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning.

About You
- A registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Mental health Nurse with at least 12 months\’ post-registration UK experience
- Confident in clinical decision-making, with a strong understanding of functional assessment
- Skilled communicator, able to build trust and ask the right questions
- Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems
- Self-motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity
- Team-oriented, ready to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working culture
