About The Role
As a Functional Assessor, you will use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection – giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system. You will carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You will be trusted to work independently, but you will also be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning. About You
- You will be a qualified healthcare professional with a passion for making a difference, bringing empathy, clinical insight and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- A registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Mental Health Nurse with at least 12 months' post-registration UK experience.
- Confident in clinical decision-making, with a strong understanding of functional assessment.
- Skilled communicator, able to build trust and ask the right questions.
- Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems.
- Self-motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity.
- Team-oriented, ready to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working culture.
