About The Role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection – giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system. You'll carry out assessments both face‐to‐face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high‐quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You'll be trusted to work independently, but you'll also be part of a supportive multi‐disciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning. About You

  • You'll be a qualified healthcare professional with a passion for making a difference, bringing empathy, clinical insight and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • A registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Mental health Nurse with at least 12 months' post‐registration UK experience.
  • Confident in clinical decision‐making, with a strong understanding of functional assessment.
  • Skilled communicator, able to build trust and ask the right questions.
  • Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems.
  • Self‐motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity.
  • Team‐oriented, ready to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working culture.
