Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant to join and grow our environmental management practice. The successful candidate will ideally be based in our Manchester, Delph or Bristol offices. This position is suited for a talented, highly experienced individual interested in leadership and contributing to innovative projects involving environmental permitting, due diligence, compliance auditing, process safety, and contaminated land investigation and remediation. An entrepreneurial attitude and enthusiasm for supporting business development and technical efforts are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are core to Geosyntec’s culture. You will work on challenging technical projects, leveraging your experience to help expand our practices through business development and client management. Responsibilities may include:

  • Growing our environmental management practice via client relationships and market initiatives.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction, project profitability, and meeting objectives.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to staff.
  • Managing projects, including planning, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Mentoring junior staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Developing work plans, evaluating data, and preparing reports.
  • Reviewing and managing document production.
  • Participating in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, or related field (required).
  • Advanced degree (preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer or Scientist (desirable).

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years (10+ preferred) of environmental consulting experience, including permitting, due diligence, compliance auditing, site investigation, and remediation.
  • Proven track record with manufacturing sector clients.
  • Experience managing project delivery, including planning, financials, and risk.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (preferred).
  • Fieldwork and travel may be required.
  • Valid UK driver’s license and clean driving record (required).
