Due to ongoing growth in our UK business, Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our site investigation & remediation practice, reporting to our office in Delph. You can build your career as you apply your expertise to a diverse range of challenging projects in the contaminated land sector. You will work—both independently and as a part of a larger field support team—with a variety of public and private clients throughout the UK. Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Collect samples of soil, groundwater, surface water and air as part of environmental investigations.
- Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules, and progress reports.
- Review field documentation for accuracy and consistency with company policy and procedures.
- Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field of study (preferred).
- Experience operating industry-typical monitoring and data-collection technologies, including but not limited to laptop and handheld computers, photoionization detectors, landfill gas meters, GPS, YSI, and other equipment used in collecting environmental samples (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with multimedia sampling including soil, water, and air sampling (preferred).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs (required).
- Valid UK driving license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
