Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mid-Career Environmental Consultant to join our contaminated land practice in Almondsbury, in the Bristol area. This position is suited to a talented, highly motivated individual with experience of contaminated land, groundwater assessment and remediation consulting, who is interested in leading and contributing to our innovative and challenging projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the growth of our site investigation & remediation practice through client relationships, business development efforts and market growth initiatives.
- Task management or Project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, meeting project schedules, quality requirements and client expectations.
- Data assessment and development of conceptual site models.
- Design, development and calibration of groundwater models to assess groundwater migration/problems and where needed solute transport, or thermal modelling.
- Undertaking risk assessments (controlled waters and human health) using both analytical and (where appropriate) numerical packages.
- Interpretation of modelling results to answer project objectives and identify/develop remediation criteria or further works including the design of further works, site investigations, and/or remediation strategies.
- Management of fieldwork tasks including site inspections, multi‑media environmental sampling and characterisation, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and management of remediation system operations and maintenance.
- Management, training and mentoring of early or mid‑career professionals.
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and supporting the senior team in client care and development activities.
Geosyntec offers professional development opportunities including attendance and presenting at technical conferences, in‑house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, which allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. You will be able to engage with our global technical action groups, which promote collaboration across the company as well as individual professional development. Geosyntec will also provide health and safety training, first aid training and medical monitoring, as required, which will be paid for by the firm.
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, earth sciences, engineering, environmental science or a related field of study. (required)
- Advanced degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or a related field of study (preferred)
- Professional registration (e.g. CGeol / CSci / EurGeol). (desirable)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years (7+ desirable) of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Demonstrable track record of project or task delivery in the site investigation and remediation sector. (required)
- Experience of directing and managing the overall delivery of projects including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (required for Project Professional level)
- Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments and meeting strict deadlines. (required)
- Field work and overnight travel may be required. Valid UK driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
