GCA is seeking an experienced AV Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate brings strong audiovisual engineering experience, the ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams, and a deep understanding of deployment and turnover processes in professional AV environments. An active AVIXA CTS-D or AQAV CQD certification is required for this position.
Duties to Include:
- Serve as the technical lead for audiovisual integration projects during implementation, testing, and turnover.
- Oversee system integration activities to ensure deployed solutions align with project requirements and design intent.
- Provide technical oversight of rack builds, staging, and installation quality.
- Coordinate configuration efforts among internal teams and external technical partners.
- Develop and support cutover plans to enable smooth transition into production.
- Oversee system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance and decision-making throughout deployment.
- Coordinate with third-party programmers and network/media subject matter experts to support complete system functionality.
- Review technical documentation and confirm implementation aligns with drawings, requirements, and project standards.
- Support punch-list resolution and final acceptance activities.
- Provide technical input for system upgrades, modifications, and expansion efforts in conference rooms, meeting spaces, training environments, and similar client facilities.
Requirements:
- Must hold an active AVIXA CTS-D or AQAV CQD certification.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in audiovisual systems engineering, AV integration, or related technical project delivery.
- Experience may be substituted with higher education as follows: Associate’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience; Bachelor’s degree may substitute for 4 years of experience; Master’s degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Experience designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting AV production equipment, including media routing, signal transport, audio/video processing, and control systems in live production environments.
- Strong knowledge of AV system integration, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving AV hardware, software, and integrated subsystems.
- Experience coordinating with programmers, installers, and network/media specialists.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federal, civilian, or other government environments.
- Experience with AV systems in conference rooms, classrooms, operations centers, or auditoriums.
- Familiarity with control systems, DSP platforms, video conferencing technologies, and network-connected AV systems.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, implementation packages, requirements traceability, and test documentation.
- Understanding of system acceptance, turnover, and cutover execution processes.
