An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our growing and well-respected Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance team from our established Newcastle office. As an articulate, motivated, and reliable person you will join our dynamic Newcastle team, where you'll bring 1-3 years of experience in Environmental Consulting, combined with a strong work ethic, motivation, and reliability. If you have previous consulting experience and environmental auditing skills, you'll be a standout candidate!

Here, you'll work on a diverse range of projects, building your expertise and fostering client relationships across the region. Key Responsibilities- Building and maintaining effective relationships with our diverse range of clients and internal SLR team members.
- Compliance Auditing and reporting.
- Potential for secondment placements.
- Licence variation and reporting.
- Assisting with the development of environmental management plans.
- Assisting in the environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, traffic, and more.
- Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors.
- Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports.
- Occasional travel to undertake field studies.
To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
- The ability to work autonomously, and the drive to learn from a variety of exciting projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Working knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power, and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
- Competencies for environmental auditing, risk management, and incident investigation is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
- Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
