An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our growing and well-respected Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance team from our established Newcastle office. As an articulate, motivated, and reliable person you will join our dynamic Newcastle team, where you'll bring 1-3 years of experience in Environmental Consulting, combined with a strong work ethic, motivation, and reliability. If you have previous consulting experience and environmental auditing skills, you'll be a standout candidate!

Here, you'll work on a diverse range of projects, building your expertise and fostering client relationships across the region. You'll also collaborate on exciting, high-impact projects with our national and multi-disciplinary teams. • Building and maintaining effective relationships with our diverse range of clients and internal SLR team members.
• Compliance Auditing and reporting.
• Potential for secondment placements.
• Licence variation and reporting.
• Assisting with the development of environmental management plans.
• Assisting in the environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, traffic, and more.
• Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors.
• Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports.
• Occasional travel to undertake field studies.

To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 1-3 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
• The ability to work autonomously, and the drive to learn from a variety of exciting projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Working knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power, and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
• Competencies for environmental auditing, risk management, and incident investigation is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
• Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
