Our client is a leading provider of services to accountancy firms. They are looking for a Tax professional to join an existing team of over 30 advisers and consultants.
Qualifications
- Solid grounding in general tax with sound tax investigations/enquiry experience, gained either in practice or with HMRC (ideally Grade 7 or above but will consider candidates qualified by experience).
Responsibilities
- Manage a case load of insured and uninsured direct tax (income tax and/or corporation tax) compliance cases, and provide written consultancy reports.
- Manage internal compliance, including anti‑money‑laundering regulatory requirements.
- Work within a team of Tax & Enquiries Consultants.
- Carry out in‑depth research, produce assignments, and undertake reports for clients.
- Provide background technical and tactical assistance to clients (accountants and tax agents).
- Draft letters to HMRC on behalf of clients and draft technical opinions where necessary.
- Take full case management responsibility, including liaising with HMRC to bring income tax/CT enquiry cases to a close.
- Attend Alternative Dispute Resolution meetings.
- Make arrangements and case‑management in relation to tribunal hearings (providing representation at tribunal is dependent upon experience).
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all areas of Direct Tax, keeping up to date with the relevant legislation and developments in law.
- Review reports and provide second opinions as and when required.
- Provide content to the marketing team to promote the firm’s services.
Working Conditions
