Our client is a well regarded independent firm based in Stoke. In this key role you will be reporting directly to the Tax Director predominantly, you will play a critical role in the review and completion of tax returns for a varied client portfolio. You will also identify opportunities to contribute towards the development of a larger advisory function.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Management of P11ds.
- Oversee personal tax returns, supporting junior staff with technical queries.
- Completion of complex tax returns.
- Act as a primary contact for clients, attending meetings as needed, and supporting in providing strategic business and tax advisory services.
- Liaise with external bodies such as HMRC and promptly resolve client queries.
- Support the Tax Director with advisory projects and ad hoc tax advice for clients.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small team, promoting a client-centric and supportive environment.
- Contribute to monthly management meetings, driving operational and cultural improvements.
Skills and Experience:
- CTA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience managing a diverse client portfolio in an accounting practice.
- In-depth knowledge of tax legislation.
- Strong technical expertise in personal tax and capital allowances for sole traders and partnerships, as well as a good understanding of Corporation Tax.
- Sound tax advisory knowledge enabling you to advise owner-managed businesses and families covering IHT, CGT, Income Tax and all Company Tax issues.
- Experience of succession planning and corporate restructuring for company clients would be welcomed but not essential.
- Experience of advising non-resident clients would be an advantage but not essential.
- Proficiency in addressing complex tax issues.
- Ability to nurture and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent holistic advisory services from the company perspective and individuals.
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
