Excellent in-house role for someone with 4 plus years corporate tax experience. You will work directly to the Head of Tax and will be involved in a great mix of compliance and advisory projects. Based in Salford, this role can be hybrid worked, minimum 3 days in the office. Full-time or 4 day week is possible. Great salary and benefits package. Would suit someone qualified (CTA, ACA, ICAS or ACCA) or part qualified e.g. ATT and going on to do CTA. Would consider a more experienced hire looking for a 4 day week and flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Providing assistance to the Head of Tax and Financial Director with day to day queries and all aspects of tax compliance.
- Managing UK compliance process and tax accounting disclosures in conjunction with external advisors.
- Support with process reviews where appropriate – both internally and within the supply chain where required.
- Manage relationships with overseas advisors to ensure timely submissions and payment.
- Assist with Group payment on account calculations.
- Assist with VAT compliance across multiple entities, to ensure timely and accurate completion/submission of all Group VAT returns.
- Work with Group HR to review Group P11Ds.
- Work with Group Finance teams to prepare/review Group PSAs, ensuring all available reliefs are utilised to optimise the tax position.
- Support the Financial Operations Manager/ wider Group payroll managers/ HR with PAYE/ NI queries as required.
- Assist with ad-hoc correspondence with HMRC.
- Responsible for working with HR to ensure relevant staff members take part in tax awareness training.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business and assist the Group in preparation for such changes.
- Contribute to transfer pricing documentation and intercompany arrangements, as needed.
- Assist the Bids team with live example of tax processes and other ad-hoc queries.
- Actively involved in supply chain audits to ensure compliance with CCO legislation.
- Assist with any client-driven audits.
- Support recruiters in their role, but provide challenge where appropriate.
Qualifications and other notes
Sound corporate tax experience is key; any experience of VAT or employment taxes is an advantage. A great first role in industry in a friendly team with good prospects for personal and professional development.
