This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager/Associate Director to join the Transfer Pricing team of a Big 4 firm in any one of the following locations: Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff. Role and Responsibilities
- Work within the Transfer Pricing Team, mainly project-based, involving multinational companies.
- The nature of the work is varied and includes involvement with all types of intercompany transactions including stability products, services, IP and debt.
- Working with clients to manage their transfer pricing risk.
- Undertaking transfer pricing planning and pricing implementation.
- Involvement and coordination of European and global transfer pricing engagements working with specialists across our global network.
- Supporting companies through all elements of business change and value chain transformation (e.g. transfer of manufacturing to low-cost jurisdictions, implementation of centralised or principal structures).
- Preparation and negotiation of Advance Pricing Agreements on behalf of clients.
- Assisting clients with tax audits from HMRC and transfer pricing defense strategies.
- Preparation of transfer pricing documentation for planning or compliance purposes (including statistical analysis).
The successful candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for managing project work and ongoing client relationships, winning and developing work across all aspects of transfer pricing and value chain transformation. As an Associate Director, you would be expected to manage and develop more junior members of the team.
- Proactively managing a portfolio of clients and projects including all aspects of financial and risk management.
- Establishing effective working relationships with new clients and the tax relationship teams within the Tax practice.
- Contributing to the development of personal and team knowledge.
- Building your own network of contacts through regular attendance at internal and external meetings.
- Keeping up-to-date with local and national business and economic issues that impact clients and/or their industry.
- Building business through targeting (internal and external).
Skills and Experience
In addition to a sound academic background, it is likely that the successful candidate will have extensive experience of advising multinational clients on transfer pricing. Wider experience of other corporate tax or related international issues would also be an advantage. In particular, we are looking for:
- A self-starter who has the ability to simultaneously manage a variety of projects.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with external clients and other tax (and non-tax) teams within the firm.
- The technical expertise to devise innovative and practical solutions to client problems and to share knowledge with the rest of the team members.
- Proven experience of business development and marketing – through networking and obtaining referrals, and using awareness of broader corporate tax issues to cross-sell the firm's other services.
- An effective delegator, strong at coaching junior staff.
- Demonstrable ability to organise, prioritise and plan workloads.
Key to this role is its advisory rather than TP documentation based. This firm can offer full or part-time working and flexible hours. Would consider a manager looking for senior manager promotion.
