Real Estate Tax Team of a Top 20 firm seeks an Associate Director. This is a National Team and so the role could be based in a wide range of office locations e.g. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Leeds, Cambridge, Reading, Milton Keynes and Glasgow. This team really outperformed in 2023 and is looking to further grow in 2024.
They advise real estate funds, global institutional investors, REITs, private investors, the public sector, on investment into UK and pan-European real estate providing tax structuring, tax compliance and tax due diligence advice. They work in all real estate sectors including commercial, office, student housing, industrial logistics, retail and hotels. The team advise on Stamp Taxes, Capital Gains, Inheritance Tax and every other related niche in this market.
Our client is happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, and support you to balance your work and life. They can offer a minimum of 1 day a week in an offer, part time hours. Could be a great place for a Real Estate Tax lawyer looking to get some work life balance.
As an Associate Director within the Real Estate Tax team, you will:
- Be a part of a high performing team with a great deal of tenure within the firm and the sector. You will work with high profile clients and on challenging projects.
- Lead on client projects, providing expert technical advice on tax structuring, transactions and a full range of other topics.
- Work with the biggest names in the market on some of the most interesting projects around β multi-jurisdictional transactions across real estate and infrastructure with current transactions in the Β£60m, Β£250m and Β£500m ranges and recent deals over Β£1bn.
- Own your own work β this is a team of self-starters and will give you the opportunity to cut your own path within the role. With the support of the Partners and Directors, you'll lead from the front when it comes to dealing with clients, delivering work and engaging with the Real Estate and broader Tax teams.
- Take responsibility for developing more junior team members, understanding their career aspirations.
Joining as an Associate Director the minimum criteria you'll need is:
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified or equivalent qualification such as lawyer or Inspector of taxes.
- UK corporate tax experience, ideally within the Real Estate sector.
- Experience of monitoring junior team members' work and coaching / career development.
