Position: Custodian II

Location: Clarkston Campus
Salary: $33,280 annually ($16/hour) with comprehensive benefits
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (second shift); shift may change
Summary: Join the Building Services Department as a Custodian II. We value diversity, professionalism, and growth. Be part of a team dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment across our campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain campus facilities, including floors, restrooms, laboratories, offices, and classrooms.
- Perform floor care tasks: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and restoring floors.
- Remove trash, clean surfaces, and restock supplies.
- Set up furniture and equipment for events and meetings.
- Handle emergency clean-ups and other related duties.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and work around laboratory materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push/pull equipment and trash barrels.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of custodial experience in institutional, industrial, or commercial settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with powered cleaning equipment and floor restoration.
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures.
- Leadership experience in cleaning teams.
- Completion of formal facilities management training.
