Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Convocation Center Manager. The Convocation Center Manager will be responsible for the successful financial and operational performance of the Georgia State University (GSU) Convocation Center.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations, coordinating with various GSU units including maintenance, event production, marketing, security, and parking.
- Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in line with industry standards and university policies.
- Managing event evaluations, financial reviews, and contract negotiations.
- Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely communication.
- Preparing and monitoring the annual operating budget and recommending capital improvements.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, laws, and regulations, and recommending operational improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Preferred qualifications include industry certifications such as CFM or CFE, experience managing large facilities, and proficiency with systems like CMMS and EBMS.
- Successful candidates must pass background checks, including credit and criminal records.
