The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a part-time Catering Assistant/Driver (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position will assist with food and beverage preparation under the direction of the Catering Chef.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure all tableware and chafing dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized before each catering event.
- Packs equipment and supplies in a timely and organized manner and leads the team to do the same.
- Maintains knowledge and trains in proper packing and transport techniques for both hot and cold foods.
- Set up event spaces, including tables, linens, buffet stations, and decor according to event specifications.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist and support event packing-out, transporting, loading and unloading catering supplies and equipment.
- Support post-event breakdown, cleanup, and inventory tasks.
- Operates catering vehicles both on and off campus.
- Completes temperature logs.
- Ensure all equipment is delivered and properly stored after each event.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and food handling procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of catering-related storage areas.
- Oversees inventory of all related goods, including linen, decor, service ware, and disposable goods on a weekly basis.
- Coordinates all supply orders with the Catering Manager and ensures consistent stock of all necessary goods.
- Maintains equipment and coordinates repair with the Catering Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and clients.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Requirements:
- Must have valid GA Driver’s License.
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time management and organization skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Attention to Detail.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
