Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Salary: $34,036 – $41,000

Here Is What You Will Do
The ideal candidate will perform skilled manual work involving the repair and installation of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment. In addition to supporting the department\’s Air Conditioning Mechanic II, the role will also:
- Overhaul and service refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating units by repairing or replacing worn parts.
- Inspect equipment for needed repairs and perform routine maintenance.
- Test refrigeration units for leaks and add gas to refrigeration units.
- Monitor valves and gauges to ensure proper operation; adjust valves, pipes, etc., as needed.
- Change and clean oil and air filters.
- Operate centrifugal and reciprocating chillers.
- Assist in installing air conditioning and heating units and related equipment.
- May assist in training lower-level employees.
- Cleans work areas and equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Technical or vocational degree and two years HVAC experience; or high school diploma or GED and four years HVAC experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications
- Knowledge of procedures, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to access confined spaces.
- Ability to work in open areas, such as rooftops, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment used in the HVAC trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to multi‑task, pay attention to detail, train and supervise staff, lift approximately 50 pounds, exhibit excellent customer service, and interpret building drawings.
