Academic Advisor II at the University Advisement Center, Georgia State University, assists academic departments and students with academic planning, advisement interpretation, and implementation of university policies regarding student enrollment and evaluation.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing information and advising students on academic programs, admission, and retention requirements.
- Disseminating university policies and maintaining accurate student records.
- Analyzing requests for readmission and financial aid reinstatement.
- Conducting orientation sessions and auditing student records for graduation requirements.
- Evaluating transfer credits and advising on transferability.
- Referring students with discrepancies and assisting in preparing enrollment reports.
- Monitoring student progress, determining awards, and teaching GSU 1010 courses.
- Tracking retention, progression, and graduation of students.

Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor's degree with 6 months of experience as an Academic Advisor I at GSU or three years of related experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Master's degree with three years of experience in student retention or student affairs, excellent communication skills, group facilitation experience, proficiency with relevant software, and experience with transfer articulation.
