Georgia-Pacific seeks a Digital Press Operator at the Hummingbird facility in West Chester, OH, responsible for operating a roll‑to‑roll inkjet web press to produce high‑quality corrugated boxes. Salary $26.50 – $31.00 per hour based on experience. 2nd/3rd shift differential: $2.00 per hour ($28.50 – $33.00 per hour).
Shifts: Hiring for 2nd Shift (2pm‑10pm) and 3rd Shift (10pm‑6am). Must be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays. Training occurs on 1st Shift (6am‑2pm) before moving to 2nd or 3rd shift.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and wear PPE.
- Operate equipment to defined standards and production specification targets.
- Set up and prepare jobs on the inkjet web press to meet established specifications.
- Monitor the process to maintain quality and inspect the final product for color precision.
- Document data consistently in computer systems to ensure proper operation and product quality.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform adjustments accurately and efficiently, minimising downtime and maintenance calls.
- Operate and safely work around mobile equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Communicate effectively on shift and via email as necessary.
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling up to twelve (12) hours a day in an industrial environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in printing or a similar industry, or as a machine operator.
- Experience with computer systems in an industrial/technical environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot machinery and quality issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Experience:
- Operating Digital and/or Flexo Printing Presses.
- Experience in corrugated packaging, folding carton, printing, or POP display industries.
- Experience with reliability and preventive maintenance (PM) systems.
- Experience with print production processes and colour theory.
