As a Fashion Sustainability and Packaging Manager you will drive the delivery of the Non-Food (George Clothing & General Merchandise) Sustainability strategy, transforming practices to meet ESG commitments and regulatory requirements. You will also bring leadership and transparency to systems, packaging compliance, and brand vision across George and GM.

  • Deliver sustainability strategy across textiles, home, and packaging.
  • Manage transparency systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Develop packaging strategies aligned with EPR, PPT, CMA, RFID, and Product Passport legislation.
  • Lead guidelines, training, and coaching to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Curate packaging in line with George Brand vision, balancing cost, capacity, and sustainability.
  • Ensure CMA compliance and governance of sustainability messaging.
  • Validate and improve ESG claims across George and GM.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership (“horizon scanning”).
  • Manage sustainability and packaging teams to deliver milestones on cost, compliance, and innovation.
  • Oversee RFID management and potential GM implementation.
  • Own packaging website and partner relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability in textiles, home products, and packaging materials.
  • Global retail supply base knowledge to mitigate risk.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Expertise in packaging formats, substrates, and print options with sustainability focus.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum of 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
