We are looking for an experienced Designer to join us at George on a 9 month Fixed term contract. Working closely with and supporting a Senior level designer, you will be accountable for researching and developing exciting new ranges, executing the latest trends that will appeal to the George customer and supporting on general design requirements.
You will play a pivotal role in the design strategy, planning and designing product, ensuring quality, style and value is consistently delivered across the ranges.
Your Role
We want to know what you think. As a Designer you will have the ability to spot up and coming trends as well as commercial opportunities, you will lead the research of new trends and market information, informing our decision making and driving product development, whilst keeping the George customer at the heart of what we do.
You will be a role model and provide coaching to our junior members of the team, supporting them in their own development and empowering them to design clothes that make people feel good.
Requirements
- Significant experience within either a retail or supply base fashion design environment and a strong track record of researching and producing innovative designs in line with customer needs.
- Confidence working with UK and overseas suppliers/factories to develop multi-category product.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- An innovative approach and desire to drive a more digital way of working and the agility to flex your style, research and creativity across all product areas – juggling multiple critical paths.
- A broad knowledge of CAD software (including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) as well as a strong critical path understanding will be key.
