The Role: Do you want to make a difference by providing engaging cover lessons to students in the absence of the teacher? Are you able to cover a variety of lessons or do you have a passion for a particular subject area where you would like to broaden your knowledge and inspire others? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! A full working week is 30.85 hours, working 5 days a week during term time and an expectation to attend appropriate staff training days. We are keen to accept applications from people who are able to work full school days or any combination of mornings and afternoons. The starting salary is £20,025 per annum for 5 days a week.

Main Responsibilities: The main purpose of this role is to cover lessons in the absence of the teacher. To work collaboratively alongside other classroom practitioners to maximize student progress and develop professional practice. To undertake other tasks to help the smooth running of the school.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience of interaction with young people aged 11 to 17
  • The ability to support teaching and learning up to GCSE standard and help develop effective study habits in those studying AS Levels
  • Recognised competence in literacy and numeracy
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team and be supportive of colleagues
  • Proven ability to be proactive, show initiative and work independently
  • Proven ability to form and maintain positive working relationships
