George Salter Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a proved track record of excellent classroom practice and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, using assessment data effectively to raise attainment and close gaps.
- Develop and implement engaging schemes of learning that support progression from Year 7 to Year 11 and beyond.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, creativity and continuous improvement.
- Lead, support and develop departmental staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
- Ensure the department is well resourced, safely managed and fully compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with pastoral teams and senior leaders to ensure every student achieves their potential.
