We are looking to appoint an Education and Welfare Support Officer for 37 Hours per Week, on a Term Time only basis to join our team at George Pindar School. We are seeking an Education and Welfare Support Officer to work closely with our pastoral team, safeguarding leads, and external agencies to provide guidance, mentoring, and practical support to students facing complex emotional or social challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Support vulnerable pupils, including those with SEMH needs, CLA, and at risk, providing one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Liaise with families and coordinate external support services.
  • Contribute to attendance and welfare strategies, home visits, and safeguarding processes to ensure students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, safeguarding leads, and external agencies such as Social Workers, the Police, Youth Offending Services, and community organisations.
  • Follow the Trust Safeguarding Practice Model, "Think Family - Think Community," and its core principles:

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation.
  • Commitment to inclusion and pastoral care.
  • A relevant degree or mental health qualification is desirable.
