Be part of the team. Keep the yard moving. Deliver for our customers. We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join the team at our busy Maidstone branch. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced yard where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly — from picking and loading to supporting customers and maintaining a safe, organised environment.

The Role Responsibilities

  • Safely operating a counterbalance forklift
  • Picking loads and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Loading and unloading company, customer, and supplier vehicles
  • Assisting customers and drivers in the yard
  • Keeping the yard clean, organised, and well presented
  • Managing stock rotation and highlighting any issues
  • Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery, reporting defects and safety concerns

About You

  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in a builder's merchant, ideally within civils/groundworks
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, team-focused approach
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Eligible to work in the UK
