Construction Plant Fitter January 03, 2026 in Barrhead

We are seeking an experiencedConstruction Plant Fitterto join our team. You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of construction plant and equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery including crawler cranes, excavators, dumpers, compressors, rollers, and small tools.
• Carry out planned preventative and proactive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Respond to breakdowns on-site locations.
• Quickly and effectively diagnose faults on equipment to ensure minimal downtime and communicate to line manager and site management.
• Maintain accurate service records and paperwork.
• Carry out any other duties, as instructed by the line manager.
• Work to health & safety standards at all times.

You might also have:

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel engines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
