About the Role
George Killoughery Ltd are a Construction Services company providing a variety of Aggregates, Logistics, Waste Management and Infrastructure Services. We have a reputation for quality of service in the market and work closely with a variety of clients including most major UK Construction Contractors.
We are seeking a highly experienced SITE MANAGER to oversee diverse aggregate processing, demolition, and civils projects. You will lead on-site operations from initial site clearance and structural demolition through to mobile crushing, screening, and concrete works. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong logistical coordination of heavy plant machinery, materials, and labour.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations: Oversee daily bulk excavation, mobile crushing/screening, and various small scale civils activities.
- Plant Logistics: Coordinate heavy machinery operations including crushers, screeners, excavators, and transport of them.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations on site, conducting daily briefings and managing RAMS.
- Project Delivery: Track project timelines, manage site teams and subcontractors, and report progress to the Contracts Manager.
- Material Management: Optimize aggregate processing outputs, ensuring recycled materials meet exact grading specifications.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven Experience: Minimum 2 years managing crushing/screening, or heavy groundwork projects.
- Certifications: Valid SMSTS and CSCS are essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mobile aggregate processing plant operations and structural demolition techniques.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of heavy plant components (e.g., jaws, conveyor belts, hydraulic systems, and screens).
- Maintenance & Servicing: Proven ability to oversee routine servicing, diagnose mechanical faults, and coordinate with fitters for emergency breakdowns.
- Safety Qualifications: Occupational Health & Safety or NEBOSH is highly advantageous.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required for regional site travel.
