β€’ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

β€’ Degree in English or a closely related subject

β€’ Proven ability to teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

β€’ Strong subject knowledge with the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons

β€’ Experience of planning and delivering a differentiated curriculum to meet the needs of all learners

β€’ A clear understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements at KS3 and KS4 (including GCSE specifications)

β€’ Ability to use a range of teaching strategies to promote high expectations and excellent progress for all students

β€’ Experience of using assessment data to inform teaching and improve student outcomes

β€’ Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and purposeful learning environment

β€’ Commitment to promoting high standards of literacy across the curriculum

β€’ Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

β€’ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

β€’ Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extracurricular activities
