Architect / Technician / Technologist in Glasgow

We are expanding our team and looking for a technically strong, detail-focused Architectural Technologist to support our growing workload across bespoke residential, developer-led housing, and affordable housing (RSL) projects.

About the Role

As an Architectural Technologist at GBA, you will:

• Produce detailed technical drawings, building warrant packs, and tender documentation
• Work on a range of project types including:
• Bespoke private homes
• Extensions, renovations & conservation
• Assist with planning applications and building warrant submissions
• Integrate measured surveys and consultant information into CAD
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, and housing associations
• Support on-site during construction, responding to RFIs and coordinating details
• Contribute to the development of our technical standards, QA systems, and templates
• Work on high-performance design solutions including low-energy and net-zero homes

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with strengths similar to Ross Slater, reliable, accurate, technically capable, and a great team contributor.

You should have:

• 2–6+ years experience in practice
• Strong technical drawing and detailing skills
• Experience with housebuilder layouts or affordable housing (highly desirable)
• Confidence with Scottish Building Standards (essential)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Good communication skills and a calm, steady approach
• Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and consistency
