Supply Chain Manager

A leading manufacturing business in Cambridge is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to optimise material flow and supplier performance across its operations. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, overseeing Purchasing, Planning, and Supplier Quality Engineering to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and supply chain excellence in a complex electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead supplier quality initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with high standards.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to support new product introduction.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles and problem-solving methodologies.
- Oversee ERP-driven capacity planning and stock management.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture.
What You\’ll Need
- Proven supply chain management experience, ideally within electronics, scientific manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of Lean principles, ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365), and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, and APQP is highly desirable.
- A relevant degree and/or MCIPS qualification.
