A precision engineering manufacturer in Cambridge is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Maintenance Engineer to support a highly automated machining environment. This position would suit a maintenance professional who enjoys fault finding, improving machine reliability and working closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.

You will be responsible for maintaining a range of advanced CNC machining centres, identifying recurring issues, implementing long-term engineering solutions and helping to improve overall equipment effectiveness across the facility.

The Role

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on CNC machinery.
  • Carry out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Reduce downtime through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support machine installations, upgrades and commissioning projects.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Manage maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset life, machine utilisation and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external service providers where specialist support is required.
