Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is looking to appoint an experienced CAD Draughtsman with strong SolidWorks expertise to support their design and production teams. This is a hands-on role focused on producing accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating concepts into production-ready designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Produce manufacturing drawings including assemblies, components, and fabrication details.
- Generate BOMs (Bills of Materials) and support production documentation.
- Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and project managers.
- Modify and update existing drawings in line with design changes.
- Ensure all drawings meet manufacturing standards, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Support prototyping and product development activities.
- Maintain accurate drawing records and version control.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CAD Draughtsman / CAD Technician within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, sheet metal, assembly).
- Ability to produce detailed, production-ready drawings.
- Experience creating BOMs and working with engineering documentation.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Desirable
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or similar.
