Overview
Join George as an Assistant Garment Designer in our Baby Boys department on a 12 month FTC. We are a leading name in children’s fashion, creating stylish, high-quality, and comfortable clothing for little ones. If you love design, have an eye for trends, and enjoy working in a creative, collaborative environment, this is the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts, sketches, and CADs in collaboration with the Senior Designer
- Create and update tech packs with construction details, materials, and specifications
- Research trends and analyse the market to keep designs relevant and competitive
- Support fabric, trim, and colour selection for seasonal collections
- Work with cross-functional teams—including merchandising and buying—to ensure a cohesive range
- Attend supplier and departmental meetings, supporting the Senior Designer with presentation and mood boards
- Contribute ideas in brainstorming and seasonal design meetings
- Deliver work to deadlines, aligned with project timelines and the critical path
- Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity
Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design or related field
- 1–2 years’ experience in a design role, ideally in children’s fashion
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and CAD skills
- Good knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and trims
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Passion for children’s fashion and a strong eye for detail
