Full-time, Long-Term Placements & Temp-to-Perm Opportunities Are you a Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) specializing in supporting children with complex educational needs, ranging from Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)? GAC Education

is recruiting versatile SEN Teachers to lead classrooms across specialist SEN schools, independent provisions, and resourced bases throughout South Warrington, Thelwall, Lymm, and surrounding Cheshire areas. Whether your expertise lies in delivering sensory-based, small-step curriculums for non-verbal pupils with SLD/PMLD, or using trauma-informed approaches to re-engage learners with SEMH, ADHD, and ASC, we have long-term and temp-to-perm contracts tailored to your specialist skill set. Key Responsibilities

Designing and delivering a highly adapted curriculumfrom sensory learning pathways and small-step progress tracking (Pre-Key Stage / Engagement Model) for SLD pupils, to differentiated academic subjects for SEMH settings.

Utilizing alternative and augmentative communication methods (such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC) alongside proactive de-escalation techniques where required.

Leading and deploying classroom Teaching Assistants effectively to ensure tailored 1:1, personal care, or behavioral support for every student.

Monitoring, recording, and reporting on individual EHCP outcomes, sensory profiles, and social-emotional development.

Maintaining rigorous safeguarding procedures and creating a safe, highly supportive classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (ECTs with strong SEND, SLD, or SEMH placement experience are welcome to apply).

Proven track record teaching children or young adults with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Complex Needs, or SEMH within specialist provisions or SEN units.

Practical knowledge of alternative communication systems (PECS, Makaton) OR formal de-escalation training (e.g., Team-Teach, MAPA, or Safety-Intervention).

Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete a new check during registration).

Comprehensive understanding of statutory safeguarding practices and

(KCSIE) guidance.
