Due to growth, GeoPura are recruiting for an R&D Engineer (controls).

Key Requirements of the Role:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for various gas to power, and power to gas projects.
  • Experience working with Siemens TIA Portal is a prerequisite for this role.
  • Familiarity with communication networks such as J1939 bus is desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs, DCS and HMIs within the Siemens TIA framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional electrical/mechanical/control teams to understand project requirements and develop control strategies that maximise system performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement advanced control algorithms to optimize energy production, storage, and distribution.
  • Perform system integration and testing to ensure proper functionality and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, working closely with Operations team and other stakeholders.
  • Document control system designs, specifications, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing between Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Conduct system modelling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate control system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in control systems, renewable energy technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Located in south Nottingham or Sheffield area preferable to ensure strong collaboration with Engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel to other GeoPura locations and customer sites in the UK and abroad.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications:

  • We welcome applications from candidates with a First-Class degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Control and Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Candidates will typically have a strong academic background, including high achievement at A-level in Mathematics, Physics, and other technical subjects.
  • We also welcome candidates who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and expertise gained through significant industry experience.
