We are building a high-leverage engineering team to power a distributed manufacturing network at scale. We are now hiring a Technical Engineering Manager to lead our backend and data engineering capability.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will:
- Architect and build core platform systems
- Write production code daily
- Lead and mentor a small, high-calibre team of senior developers and data scientists
- Shape technical direction alongside the CEO and product leadership
- Ensure engineering quality, velocity and scalability
This is not a coordination role or a Jira-ticket manager role. You will lead from the front.
Tech Stack:
- Laravel (core backend framework)
- PHP
- JavaScript (Vue SPA frontend)
- API integrations (including third-party platforms)
- Data pipelines and analytics
- AI/automation integration
Experience building scalable systems in Laravel is essential.
You will own:
- Backend architecture and system design
- Code quality and technical standards
- Performance and scalability optimisation
- Engineering roadmap delivery
- Data architecture alongside data scientists
- Automation and AI-driven workflow integration
- Technical hiring and capability development
You will work closely with:
- Operations (supply performance systems)

What We’re Looking For:

You have likely:
- Built and scaled a production SaaS platform
- Designed APIs and complex business logic
- Managed small, high-performance teams
- Worked closely with data or AI initiatives
- Operated in a startup or scale-up environment
What This Role Is Not:
