We are hiring a Strategic Account Manager to grow high-potential manufacturing and engineering accounts through field-based, relationship-led selling, owning the M62 sales corridor. This is not an inside sales or order-processing role. You will manage a mixed portfolio of existing accounts, lapsed customers, and selected new targets, getting in front of the right people to uncover high-value RFQs, production opportunities, and repeat revenue. You will visit customer sites to understand how they buy and where Geomiq can support more of their manufacturing needs across CNC, injection moulding, sheet metal, fabrication, and 3D printing. You will own opportunities from quote to close, working closely with the Strategic Accounts Director, internal account management, supply, quoting, and operations teams to turn account opportunities into profitable revenue. You’re ideally located near Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Bromley, Bradford, Wakefield, Sheffield, or Blackford.
Main responsibilities
- Account Growth & Portfolio Development
- Own a defined portfolio of high-potential manufacturing and engineering accounts
- Build account plans around stakeholders, sites, active projects, buying behaviour, and future production needs
- Increase RFQ volume, repeat work, and share of wallet across priority accounts
- Identify accounts with the potential to grow into deeper strategic relationships
- Customer Engagement & Opportunity Creation
- Build trusted relationships with engineering, procurement, operations, production, and senior stakeholders
- Visit customer sites across the M62 Corridor to understand sourcing processes, supplier gaps, project pipelines, and manufacturing priorities
- Open new contacts, departments, and sites within existing and target accounts
- Position Geomiq’s capabilities across CNC machining, injection moulding, sheet metal, fabrication, and 3D printing against customer needs
- Account Reactivation & Market Development
- Re-engage lapsed or underdeveloped accounts with meaningful commercial potential
- Develop selected target accounts in manufacturing, engineering, and industrial markets
- Build relationships with customers who have custom part, production, or repeat manufacturing requirements
- Convert customer insight into qualified pipeline, RFQs, and closed revenue
- Commercial Ownership & Internal Execution
- Own account momentum from opportunity creation through quote, negotiation, close, and handover
- Identify and progress high-value opportunities, bringing in the Technical Sales Engineer where deeper technical scoping, supplier validation, or HVP execution is required
- Work with internal account management, supply, quoting, and operations to keep customer follow-up, quote progress, CRM updates, and next steps clear
- Negotiate pricing and terms within agreed commercial parameters
Experience Required
- Proven experience in field sales, strategic account management, territory sales, or business development
- Background in manufacturing, engineering, industrial, technical B2B, or custom manufacturing environments
- Strong relationship builder with procurement, engineering, operations, and production stakeholders
- Comfortable growing existing accounts, reactivating lapsed customers, and opening new opportunities
- Technically credible enough to discuss drawings, materials, production methods, and manufacturing requirements
- Commercially sharp, with strong account planning, CRM discipline, negotiation, and follow-through
- Comfortable visiting customer sites regularly and working closely with internal sales, quoting, supply, and operations teams
- Familiarity with the M62 Corridor geography and the manufacturing businesses that operate across it is a strong advantage
