The Supervisor is a key member of the distribution centre team and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating departmental warehouse activities. The supervisor will maintain an open dialogue with the Operations Manager and Campus Director to allow timely decisions to be made. The supervisor is also responsible for maintaining inventory levels of correct consumables and supervising employees to ensure KPI and productivity adherence.
Responsibilities & Duties:- Coordinates daily activity with the DC and Operations Manager
- Supervises and directs work executing activities including but not limited to – order fulfillment, outbound, inbound and value add activity
- Communicates quickly and reacts quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labour needs
- Manages labour hours and electronic time keeping systems, procedures and processes
- Interviews and trains prospective new team members and completes appraisals
- Ensures all subordinate staff understand performance targets and KPI and clearly outlines what is expected
- Deals with complaints quickly and addresses internal and external stakeholder needs promptly
- Drives innovation and recommends process improvement
- Reviews records to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOX and or HMRC (where applicable)
- Complies with all company policies and procedures
- Completes RCA's to establish reasons for discrepancies and suggests mitigating or preventative measures
- Monitors and ensures KPI's are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Assigns duties to subordinate staff and monitors for neatness and conformance to standards set out in BBP's or SOP's
- Works with Operations Manager to ensure ISO / HMRC / SMS / HSE compliance for assigned facilities
- Prepares reports for leadership
- Assists in maintaining physical properties and promotes and ensures a clean and safe work environment
- Promotes GEODIS in a positive and ethical manner always
- Carries out any reasonable request
- Minimum 3+ years related or transferable industry experience
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with warehouse management or related systems preferred
- Knowledge of labour management systems and productivity initiatives preferred
- Experience with warehouse equipment
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- GCSE's in Maths, English and Science (grades A to C)
- Bachelor's degree (BA, MSc) an advantage
