We are now looking for an On Site Trainer to join our team at our Contract Logistics site based in Leicester. The role is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing business and sector. The role involves making sure we reach customer expectations by ensuring operational targets are met.
The Role includes but is not limited to:
- Deliver a full suite of accredited MHE training (basic & refresher) to include all fleet on site
- Assist with all aspects of the operational training needs of the business
- Ensure the relevant authorisation to operate is in place for all trainees
- Ensure SOPs are up to date and contain relevant information and processes in accordance with current work processes
- Manage and control the training matrix for all colleagues
- Archive and upload online all relevant documents from training sessions
- Lead on the local operations and MHE assessment and training programmes, engaging with the workforce on on-going improvement training
- Support the Management team with the implementation of operation and MHE training, policies and procedures
- Create training plans to ensure all permanent, temporary and agency colleagues are refresher trained within appropriate timelines
- Coordinate with Managers and or Team Leaders to organise training schedules in line with operational requirements
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following defined SOP procedures and ensuring trainee are familiar with those SOPs as part of the training
- Maintain all MHE and MHE safety equipment onsite ensuring battery levels are at the optimum levels and perform regular audits on safety equipment operator compliance
- Lead employees to create a culture which encourages safe behaviour and environmental best practice
- Drive a safety culture whereby each team member operates with safety as the primary concern, and whereby safety challenges to colleagues are encouraged and developed
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, making adjustments as necessary
- Monitor trainee progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure competency in all areas of warehouse management
- Duties when not training or working on any additional duties provided by line manager are as below:
- Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries/shipments, demonstrating best practices for efficiency and safety
- Process, put away goods, pick and pack goods in a timely manner
- Proactively communicate with Managers about daily activities and obstacles
- Report any damage or missing goods to the warehouse management team
- Process Adherence
- Follow workplace Health and Safety rules when handling goods and report Hazards/Incidents
- Keep a clean and safe environment and optimise space utilisation
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping throughout the site at all times
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic English and Maths Education
- RTITB licence
- RTITB instructor certification
- Training certificate for MHE
- Examiners/training course certification
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Good oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Flexible attitude to work and hours
- Understanding of verbal and numerical reasoning
- Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
- Previous warehouse experience
- Basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office package programs
- Must have a valid forklift license
- Must possess a valid in date examiners/training certification
- Ability to adapt training methods to various learning styles and environments
Package Details:
- Monday-Friday 13:30-22:00.
- Company Pension Scheme.
- 20 Days Annual Leave Per Annum + Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service.

- Base salary is £27,800 per annum, plus £2,340 PM Shift allowance per annum, plus skills allowance of £1,040 per annum. £31,130 total salary per annum.
The working hours for this role are Monday-Friday 13:30-22:00., flexible around business requirements; based at our Leicester Site.
