Job description:

  • General: Always abide by GEODIS' Code of Conduct and all other policies and procedures, maintaining a professional approach, behaviour and confidentiality at all times. Show a willingness to undertake additional roles to meet the needs of your department and colleagues. Identify and report optimization possibilities in approach, processes and policies. Act as a representative of your department and GEODIS, always promoting a professional image. Model the company values in day-to-day interaction internally and externally. Ensure all activities are made in accordance with industry best practice, ISO, standard operating procedures, regulatory compliance and Health and Safety. Update your job knowledge through access to company and local training showing a commitment to continual professional development. Ensure that you have an excellent understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety. Familiarise yourself with the rest of the Health & Safety Manuals as appropriate, including Risk Assessments and COSHH. Always keep the working environment clean and tidy. Any other duties as required by GEODIS.
  • Pricing and Quotations: Qualify and respond to GEODIS Network and Agent pricing requests on behalf of the UK business pointing them to the self-serve tools where applicable or undertaking quote and pricing as required within agreed SLA. Follow-up and report monthly on success of quotes completed. Complete the pricing for local, regional, and global tenders received by the UK Tender / Product team, including the Sales Owners and Branch teams for existing or targeted UK accounts. Provide technical knowledge and support to the business and network. Contact carriers for rates & information related to quotations when information not available in GEODIS tools (WWICS / WEBCARGO / G-R8 etc). Analyse volume and pricing data from clients and network to guide commercial decisions. Update and maintain pricing databases and tools. Issue quotations in a single format/system, and record for customer account record. Analyse data and information to guide commercial decisions. Participate in projects improving processes and competitiveness. Identify and transfer sales leads from the network to appropriate sales teams. Collect market and pricing feedback for improvement of new customer sales and margin on existing customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure proper & timely handover of bookings, customer contract agreements and relevant details to all involved with operations. Provide complete and timely information regarding new business to concerned parties within network. Support product managers with monthly KPI reports and additional activities as agreed. Ensure you always work in a proactive manner. Comply with GEODIS' global sales process and commercial policy.

  • Experience in freight forwarding and logistics industry
  • Good knowledge of freight products & operational processes (Import and Export, Air, Sea and Road)
  • Good communication / telemarketing and negotiation skills
  • High level of MS Excel skill
  • Fully PC literate and able to use various platforms and software
  • Customer Satisfaction and entrepreneurial mind set
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
