The SHEQ Coordinator is a key member of the site team, supporting the implementation of the SHEQ management system and overseeing company operations to help keep the business running safely. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of agreed QSHE standards.
Key Activities / Accountabilities:- Understand significant risk, aspects & impacts at divisional/site level, including initial and ongoing reviews as part of the management system process.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and other requirements through reviewing relevant procedures and amending their aspects and internal audit schedule as necessary.
- Drive forward towards becoming leading edge in health, safety environment and quality agenda, both internally and externally.
- Establish working relationships with relevant external SHEQ organisations.
- Support General Managers in executing responsibilities related to health, safety, environment and quality, including development of a succession plan.
- Undertake training required to implement the system (provided by the centre).
- Support the implementation and review of a local communications plan to ensure colleague engagement in regional/UK CL and local policies and targets.
- Record any regulator visits/communications onto GEODIS UK CL system.
- Regularly attend/organise SHEQ meetings to ensure knowledge sharing and development of the SHEQ MS.
- Develop safe operating procedures in conjunction with training teams.
- Identify all emergency situations and create and communicate an emergency plan.
- Conduct emergency drills in line with the logistics fire manual.
- Escalate incidents in line with the Business Continuity Manual and logistics escalation procedure.
- Ensure all site licenses are monitored and renewed where applicable.
- Retain all site records for the required retention times as specified within the manual.
- Coordinate and review internal and external audits.
Essential Education and/or Training:
- GCSEs in Math's, English and Science (grades A to C) an advantage.
- Supply Chain Specific Qualifications an advantage.
- IOSH Risk Assessment.
- NEBOSH Cert or willing to work towards one.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
- General knowledge of QSHE processes.
- Excellent communication skills including the delivery of training to all levels of management.
- PC literate with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to generate or write basic reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal in common sense.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
