Job description
As a Senior Operations Manager you are expected to oversee the entire end-to-end flow of goods, acting as a strategic leader who balances high-level planning with daily operational execution to ensure efficiency, safety, and profitability. This role involves managing multiple teams, supervising shift Operation managers, and driving continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership: Manage daily activities including goods-in, inventory control, order picking, and dispatch across multiple shifts.
• KPI & Performance Management: Set, track, and exceed KPIs related to productivity, accuracy (OTIF - On-Time, In-Full), and cost.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, such as NEBOSH/IOSH standards, ensuring a "safety first" culture.
• Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and coach shift managers, supervisors and staff to build high-performing teams, handling performance management and training.
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to streamline processes, introduce automation, and increase efficiency.
• Budgeting & Financial Control: Prepare and manage operational budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) to control costs.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including human resources, health and safety, procurement, and external customers.
Applicant's profile
Required Experience & Skills
• Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of management experience within a high-volume warehouse, 3PL, or FMCG environment.
• Leadership: Strong team management capability, including experience leading multi-shift teams.
• Technical Knowledge: ability to quickly grasp Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Generix proficiency will be advantageous. Microsoft Word, Power Point & Excel.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to plan for capacity requirements and business growth.
• Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business is often preferred, but extensive experience is prioritized
