Job description:

To ensure a continuous supply of materials and stock so that production should not suffer at the time of customer's demand. To keep material cost under control as they contribute to reducing the cost of production and to eliminate duplication in ordering stocks. The main role of the Stock Manager is to organise and monitor inventory levels to maximise efficiency. Stock Manager must demonstrate skills, such as creating and reporting of Cycle Counts/Reports and ensure the agreed SLA of losses is achieved through motivating and driving the stock team as well as organisational planning. This position is instrumental to the distribution of products within the DC. The inventory on site is governed by SOX compliance and this needs to be demonstrated within all levels of the stock department. Inventory Blueprints are the foundations for the site and the Stock Manager must ensure they are adhered to all thoroughly at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily activity with the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Manage and direct work executing activities including but not limited to – Cycle Counts, investigations, Reports in-line with customer requirements
  • Communicate and react quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labour needs
  • Manage labour hours and electronic time keeping systems, procedures and processes updated
  • Interview and train prospective new team members; completes 1-2-1's and appraisals
  • Ensure all subordinate staff understand performance targets and KPI and clearly outlines what is expected
  • Deal with complaints quickly and address internal and external stakeholder needs promptly
  • Drive innovation and recommend process improvement
  • Review records to ensure accuracy and compliance (where applicable)
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Complete RCAs/8d's to establish reasons for discrepancies and suggest mitigating or preventative measures.
  • Monitor and ensure KPI's are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Assign duties to subordinate staff and monitor for neatness and conformance to standards set out in BBP's or SOP's
  • Work with Operations Manager to ensure ISO / HMRC / SMS / HSE compliance for assigned facilities
  • Prepare reports for leadership
  • Assist in maintaining physical properties, promote and ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Promote the company in a positive and ethical manner
  • Carry out any reasonable request

Applicant's profile:

  • Essential Education and/or Training:
  • Experience in the logistics industry
  • Stock Management
  • Experience of managing staff on a shift, managing performance and deadlines
  • Strong Organisation skills
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance desirable
  • Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
  • Industry knowledge
  • Experience in producing daily/ weekly reports
  • Customer Facing Experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint
  • SAP Experience in reporting and of a high standard
  • Ability to manage several separate departments
  • Necessary Technical / Functional Skills:
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels of staff
  • Ability to effectively communicate via telephone and email
  • Presentation skills
