General Overview

Key tasks include: Data analysis, development of ground models, production of factual reports, field supervision, geotechnical and geological design and calculations. Full training will be provided in Geobear ground improvement technology.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting sites, in person or online
  • Assessing damage to buildings
  • Creating designs
  • Providing technical support to Area Managers
  • Developing feasibility schemes
  • Designing a suitable repair for buildings that have suffered from subsidence
  • Checking of internal design in accordance with in house design guidelines
  • Checking the quality of quotations in lines with in house quoting guidelines
  • Signing off designs
  • Supporting Technical Director in business development

KPIs

  • Reduced number of aborted jobs and complaints relating to design
  • Reduced numbers of rejected quotes (training)
  • Engineering ticket lead time

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering/Geology.
  • M Eng / MSc (Eng) in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics preferable
  • IT skills across multiple platforms - Google Suite/MS Office
  • Experience in geotechnical and CAD design software is preferable, such as SLOPE, PLAXIS etc.
  • Sponsorship for Professional Registration within an appropriate institution will be provided.
  • Good written and verbal English

Experience

This is essentially an entry level position but relevant experience within engineering or environmental consultancy and/or ground engineering contractors including those Companies which specialize in site investigation and experience of logging soil to BS5930 and knowledge of different site investigation techniques would be desirable.
