This is a role for someone who is passionate about solving domestic property subsidence issues to the highest technical standard. The role covers all aspects of Engineering for our residential subsidence repair business. It is a hands-on role in all aspects, including site visits and being personally responsible for deliverables including supporting our Global businesses.
Key Tasks
- Accurately diagnosing subsidence properties both structurally and geotechnically and creating technically correct treatment plans, feasibility of schemes, design, design checking, quality assurance of all residential designs, quote quality checking and advising the operations department on engineering matters.

Qualifications
- Educated to degree standard in Civil & Structural Engineering, M Eng / MSc (Eng) preferable
- A track record of designing geotechnical solutions, preferably in domestic subsidence space
- IT skills across multiple platforms – Google Suite / MS Office / Salesforce / Plaxis
- Experience in retaining wall analysis and design
- Member of ICE / IStructE
Experience
- 10 years experience in engineering
- Variety of project sizes and complexities (all causations of subsidence)
- Ideally coming from a contracting and/or consulting business and/or loss adjusting and/or building control with experience in building/foundation engineering and repair.
- This role requires someone who is used to dealing with multiple tasks at a time with strong ICT skills, preferably Salesforce.
- Experience of dealing directly with both customers and internal stakeholders.
- They will have a good knowledge of building techniques and design.

- Developing feasibility schemes
- Designing a suitable repair for buildings that have suffered from subsidence
- Checking of internal design in accordance with in-house design guidelines
- Checking the quality of quotations in line with in-house quoting guidelines
- Signing off Certificates of Structural Adequacy
- Overseas support during holiday periods
- Working with operations to learn how designs perform on site
- Supervising retreatment works on site
- Customer-facing meetings (CPDs, account reviews)
- Supporting Head of Social Housing and Head of New insurance business in business development
